Love the bright colors against the sand and waves. What are beach huts for? I live on the beach in North Carolina but we don't have "huts," we have houses, condos and hotels on the beach.
Rod Johnson replied:
Thank you very much Benanne, sorry I was not able to reply sooner, I've been getting over a migraine attack. Beach huts are for people who do not live on or near the beach. The hut allows people to store things like deck chairs, sun beds and wind breaks next to the beach so that they do not have to carry everything with them each time they visit. Some beach huts have electricity and running water so that hot drinks and basic cooking could be done in them. Many of beach huts in the UK are for hire by the day or week, but in some seaside resorts the beach huts are privately owned and they can command very high prices if they ever come up for sale.
